Ravensbourne and District Landcare Group - sign unveiling ceremony

The Ravensbourne and District Landcare Group recently completed a Toowoomba Regional Council community grants funded project involving the extension to an existing Munro Tramway walking trail and the installation of interpretive signs along this extended section.

To commemorate the completion, on Sunday the 5th of June, the RDLG held a sign unveiling ceremony at the Perseverance Reserve and an information presentation at the Perseverance Hall.

A number of MTHG members participated in these proceedings, including Barry Munro, the great grandson of Duncan Munro, who, together with Toowoomba Regional Councillor Joe Ramia, performed the unveiling.

Another 3 MTHG members were involved as presenters at the information session, with Rosalie Eustace, the designer of the interpretive signs, outlining some interesting history about the line, Mike Kinion delivering a presentation on the techniques used to locate the tramway route and John Jeffery providing an outline of the Group’s communications and promotional activities.

Mike Kinion also displayed some relics discovered during his search and detect missions.
